Aslı Bugay

She was born in 1997 in Istanbul. She studied painting at Ferhat Edizkan Painting Workshop. In 2015, she started her undergraduate education at the Department of Traditional Turkish Arts of the Faculty of Fine Arts at Marmara University. She completed her education at Dr. Lecturer Gülnihal Küpeli Illumination Workshop at the branch of Illumination – Miniature in the department of Traditional Turkish Arts of the Faculty of Fine Arts at Marmara University. In 2017, she worked in the arrangement of tile patterns and in the hand-drawing section for the restoration of Hatice Turhan Sultan Tomb. She did her internship at Marmara University Wooden Pearl Workshop in 2018. She took part in various exhibitions with her artwork such as the group exhibition called “İsim – SİZ” (i.e. Name – LESS) held at Işık Gallery by Teşvikiye FMV Işık Schools in 2018, the group exhibition of Gülnihal Küpeli and her students from Marmara University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Traditional Turkish Arts held at “Olbia Art Gallery” at Akdeniz University in 2018, and the group exhibition called “Biz de” (i.e. We, too) in 2019. She lived and worked in the United States of America for 4 months within the scope of Work and Travel program. She has started working in the private sector since her graduation in 2019 and has so far continued her artwork, as well.
